About the Author
Sigrún Klara Hannesdóttir (Ph.D, University of Chicago; MSLS, Wayne State University; BA, University of Iceland) is Associate Professor, Library and Information Science Studies, Faculty of Social Science, University of Iceland. She has worked in libraries in the United States and Peru as well as in Iceland, served on the IFLA Standing Committee of School Libraries, and is Vice-President, International Association of School Librarianship. Publications include Guidelines for the Education and Training of School Librarians (1986), a chapter in School Libraries: International Developments (Scarecrow, 1991), and a chapter in Biblioteken och framtiden (in Swedish) on the library's future (1991).
