About the Author
Richard Jackson, Head of the Americana Collection in the Music Division of the New York Public Library at Lincoln Center, compiled the bibliography United States Music and has edited numerous collections, including Democratic Souvenirs: An Anthology of 19th-Century American Music.
David Horn is Senior Assistant Librarian at the University of Exeter, England. Co-editor of the journal Popular Music since its inception, he has also edited two volumes of conference papers for the International Association for the Study of Popular Music, of which he was a founder-member.
